I get it. If you’re like many of my best clients, you may be sitting there wondering – “Will hypnosis really work for me?” Or “Isn’t hypnosis just a stage gimmick?”
With your permission, I’d like to share a story with you.
So the other day I had a follow-up visit with a client. Let’s call this client “Ron”.
Before coming to see me in my office here in New York, Ron smoked over 40 cigarettes a day.
To put that in perspective, over 12 waking hours that’s a cigarette every 20 minutes, equalling over 14,600 cigarettes every year. And at $13 per pack (here in NYC), that little habit cost him well over $9,490 each year.
And to make matters worse, he’d been doing this for TEN YEARS.
Can you imagine?
Obviously, like so many smokers Ron felt completely trapped by his habit yet felt powerless to quit. He knew something had to change, but so far nothing had helped quell his urge to smoke.
More knowledge about the risks just made him mad.
The patches made his skin itch.
The gum tasted like garbage.
And the prescriptions made him hallucinate.
So as a “last resort” he came to Freedom Hypnosis NYC for help in quitting.
We performed a normal hypnosis session inside the office. It took about an hour and he left looking and feeling relaxed and at ease.
So it was kind of surprising that when I saw him for the second visit, he appeared a little upset. The scowl on his face told an unspoken story – hypnosis hadn’t worked. I could almost hear his angry thoughts penetrating the room.
“Craig, I have a problem,” he said.
“Well, what’s the problem?” I asked.
“It didn’t work.”
“Oh?”
Now, Ron had responded favorably to hypnosis. As far as I could tell, we had changed his underlying programming. And knowing what I know about how my program works (which I’ll tell you about in a moment), it was almost impossible that it did nothing for him.
He continued, “Yeah. The hypnosis didn’t work.”
“Well, are you still smoking?”
He answered with a straight face, still visibly upset.
“No, I haven’t smoked once since our last session.”
“Not once? Wow, that seems like an improvement. So how do you know it didn’t work?”
“Well, I still think about cigarettes.”
Do you see that? This client of mine, Ron, went from smoking every 20 minutes on autopilot to smoking NOTHING after a single session. From spending over $9,490 on cigarettes a year to nothing.
And yet the shift was so subtle that he didn’t even feel it happen!
Isn’t that amazing?
That’s the power of hypnosis at work.
It just won’t be there anymore.
So of course, it feels like nothing happened. That’s because we’re changing what’s underneath, far below what your conscious mind is even paying attention to. It’s subtle but powerful.
So if you say hypnosis doesn’t work. That’s okay. I won’t be offended.
I’ve heard it more times than I can count from people who’ve experienced relief using hypnosis.
When you’re ready to set aside your skepticism and find out if hypnosis through my sessions will work for you, go ahead and book a free discovery call with me.
We’ll spend 15 minutes discussing your problem and, if you qualify, you’ll be invited to take the next step. If not, I’ll refer you to someone else who can help.
